			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Right, it&#8217;s about the time to refresh the website. I&#8217;m almost finished at the NFTS, and unfortunately I didn&#8217;t get on to the Fiction Direction Master this time around, so now it&#8217;s time to get a job. Aaaaaanyway&#8230; so now I need to get the portfolio updated, the business cards printed and a new website designed so I can get a decent chance on the job marked.</p>
<p>My new website will be spilt into four parts:<br />
My Blog<br />
My Portfolio<br />
My CV<br />
and my crazy idea: The Archive.</p>
<p>The Archive is an idea of using all the web 2.0 sharing sites, like YouTube, Veoh, Flickr etc. and put all my digital media online and make this portal &#8220;The Archive&#8221; where all these services are easily accessible. I will try and sort the sites by the way you access them, ie. RSS and podcasts etc. In other words, you will be able to either view, download or subscribe to any of the media.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not all done yet, but Im working hard on getting it ready asap.</p>
<p>On another note, I&#8217;m now almost finished with my film My Singing Girl. I pretty much have the locked picture, the music is sorted, the titles, visual fx and rollers are in place. Now only the final it&#8217;s only the final track laying, grading and sound post which is needed. This final step will be done out in Beaconsfield at the NFTS.</p>

I&#8217;m looking for an editor and sound mixer. I already have people in mind, but I&#8217;m also on a deadline so I&#8217;m just going to have to go out there and find some good post people! I want to score and soundtrack the film, so we have a nice mix. I have already found my composer, Leif N from January Jaunt, but I am still looking for the tracks for the film.</p>

Hi all, </p>
<p>Had a great day today! I finished and handed in my application for the NFTS directors Masters course! and I started casting for my next film &#8220;My Singing Girl&#8221;. I loved getting back into directing. It&#8217;s such a kick! I know that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. We went through a simple scene and just used improv for most of the dialog and action. I also found that I got loads of good ideas for the scene just from watching the actors make up stuff!</p>
<p>Also, We&#8217;ve almost finished Malika&#8217;s application film. We worked thoughout last night finishing the special effects and doing the titles. I still haven&#8217;t heard from her if she&#8217;s actually finished it for tomorrow (the application deadline) but I&#8217;m sure she&#8217;ll make it. The shot above is from malika&#8217;s film and the youtube video underneeth is one of our special effects test we did before shooting the film.</p>

I have been busy lately working on my next film project for school: My Singing Girl. I just finished the first draft of the script last night and just had my script review with Roger Crittenden, Jim O&#8217;Brien and Rob Richie. They all liked it, but I still have lot&#8217;s of editing to do and I need to redo my initial setup in the beginning. I have already set up my casting sessions for next week with the help of James Heath, my casting director, and I have got location scouting rolling with Malika, my producer and 1st AD. All in all I think I got everything under control for this film&#8230; for now&#8230; lol But of cause this is not the only stuff I have to do. I also have to edit Malika&#8217;s film over the weekend, finish the special effects and finish my application for the NFTS Directors MA course. I have to hand in the application before the 17th May, so the following week should be interesting!</p>
<p>Im shooting from the 28th May for 5 days. Can&#8217;t wait!</p>

They played fairly well and the sound was good, the best part though was that they played so fucking aggressive. I have never seen them like this before. We were there because we had gotten &#8220;Maria&#8221;, the film we made together, onto the festival. Unfortunatly we couldn&#8217;t win anything since were just that years selected guests of the festival, but it was still lots of fun getting our film screened along with so many others. Had a good week and a half in DK hanging out with all my old mates and sorting out the editing for my current film aswell as working on the January Jaunt music video. Can&#8217;t wait to finish off this film. I&#8217;m so curious as how it will turn out since I&#8217;ve done this one quite differently than my other films. Lot&#8217;s of improv and figuring out the shots on the set as we went along, which is very different than what I&#8217;m use to. (Me; Crossing my fingers.)</p>

Im not too worried about the time issue as I have gotten a good producer, James Heath, to help me out and I have my dream team for a crew: Bertil Mulvad on camera and Steen Bondrop on sound. We then started talking ideas and it all ended up with me pulling one of my old ideas out of the hat. The whole concept is a bit weird, so bare with me:<br />
The whole concept is that they boys will be playing in a studio where serveral studio camera&#8217;s will be filming them. Next we have a guy to produce the images and mix in a mit of graphics once in awhile, finally this is all projected onto them. They wore some white shirts and t-shirts so we could see the motives on them and best of all&#8230; It all worked!</p>
<p>We shot the video last wedensday and everything went well. The guys must have played the song over 40 times that day (evening/night/next morning) and we got everything on tape. HDCAM tape!!! hehe</p>
<p>Anyway, The video is being edited at the moment and when I get the word from the band I will release it on my site. I will see if I can&#8217;t be allowed to show off the dummy video I did of it.</p>

<p>Been awhile, yet again, since I posted and as the title states, it&#8217;s become a practicle statistic that I post about 5 posts a month. But all the stupid coincidences aside!</p>
<p>It&#8217;s christmas and I have finished school for this year. I&#8217;m already back home in good ole&#8217; Denmark to chill out and spend time with friends and family. The school ended with a BANG! We had <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0533564/" target="_new">Gilles MacKinnon</a> come around and talk to us and the day before we had an Oliver Stone masterclass, so it&#8217;s been great! I&#8217;m still working on my final exercise of this year, our Spanish Steps films, but it&#8217;s still not there in the editing.</p>
<p>In the past few months I have been making a lot of music and I&#8217;m absolutely loving it! So I have actually put together a little collection which I&#8217;m just about ready to showcase. So I will be making some music videos over X-Mas featuring my own music.</p>

<p>Long time no blog. At school we&#8217;ve been given a new exercise called The Spanish Steps. We have to make a 3-Hander scene (A scene with three characters) and this time we can write dialog in, so its at a whole new level now! I presented my idea to our teachers last thursday and they seemed to like it, so I&#8217;ve gone ahead and started writing the script, but as it is right now, it&#8217;s too long! or atleast I think so. Usually we say a minute a page, and we have been given the maximum length of 5 minutes, and&#8230; well you guessed it, I am over 5 pages&#8230; I have to present my script on wedensday, so then I will find out if its a problem, thats unless I sort it out by myself before then.</p>
<p>The second thing I wanted to blog about was that my last film project, Maria, has finally come to a close and we are screening it for the first time on the 9th of December! This is going to happen at ØST FOR PARADIS (East of eden) art cinema in Århus at ten o&#8217;clock, and YES I will be able to make it! awesome! Maria, for me has been one of the best film making experiences that I have had in a long time, and thats no mystery since we had an awesome producer, a great crew and cast, and last but least, Its one of Kasper Skovsbøls ideas, script and his great personality as one of the main characters! Im sure I have blogged about the film before, so look it up.</p>
<p>Finally I wanted to start a new tradition on my site, a show of my mobile phone photos. This ofcause means lousy quality, but it also fun because there are so many &#8220;moments&#8221; among them, a special kind of sponanity about them&#8230; or maybe its just because I was drunk while taking them&#8230; who knows&#8230; they are fun nevertheless! <p>Some of the most important stuff I brought back with me has been my external harddrives! I have my entire portfolio on there aswell as a lot of current and unfinished projects which I thought would be nice to have around. I also have a collection of editing, photo and sound resources like sound effects archive, photoshop templates for EVERYTHING and lots of other stuff.</p>
<p>I was digging through one of my old drives and found a film that I had completely forgotten that I ever made! So I decided to upload it and if you click the iPod Quicktime logo below this post you can watch it, or you could also do it the right way and subscribe to my PodCast! <p>I started sleeping in late, then went out to investigate the area I was in (after which I posted the photo in the previous post). I then got a call from Majken who hadent heard from the guy who she was suppose to stay over with, so I went down to Liverpool station to pay her a visit, and there she was, sitting all by her lonesome at a Nero Coffe shop. We talked and realized that we had met before. Majken had called me about a month ago to ask if I could cut her documentary but I had said no because of all the film school stuff, but this is not the where I knew her from. She use to come down at the film workshop in Århus while she was working on one of her previous projects. Anyway! She called me about 3 days ago when she found out herself, that she also was going to London. She is beginning tommorrow at the University here in Shoreditch. So we met and went out for a drink, as her friend/contact diden&#8217;t show up. She then finally got a call from him and we aranged to meet at the Golden Heart pub on Commercial Street and got a few drinks with him and his friends. The friends left one by one and finally we decided that it was time to head home. We went down Brick Lane and went into an Indian resturant, which was really great, well that food anyway. And thats about it. Doesen&#8217;t sound like a long day, but with all the walking I&#8217;ve done it has become an EXTREMELY long day, my feet are so sore I really don&#8217;t know how Im going to last a week in this city.</p>

Its saturday night and the streets are full of people going out and the music in all the pubs have gotten the volume turned way up, just like back in århus, with the exception that there are twenty times more people on the streets here! <p>I haven&#8217;t written in awhile as I have been busy, working, tired, frustrated and so on, but that &#8217;should&#8217; all be over now as I DID GET INTO THE FILM SCHOOL! and it&#8217;s first now, the evening before leaving for london, that I have found the peace to write something here again.</p>
<p>Hopefully they will keep us too busy in the first week as I will try to make some videos and post them on my site, you know, just to show you how I am getting on. I must say that the most frustrating thing about going over there was wheather I had a place to stay. Which, for awhile, I diden&#8217;t even though I had already booked my flight! But now I have a place to stay, and its nice an close to the school.</p>
<p>The school is in central London, in the east side, in the Tea Building (look it up in google.co.uk).</p>

The film has also been onlined to HD (shot on HDCAM), and it residing at the Filmworkshop (taking up about 331 GB) on their Raid server. I will begin the effects, such as removing boom mic&#8217;s, and other unwanted things that I have found in our lovely HD frames, and when done with that the colourgrading will commence. </p>
<p>I have also started writing on my next project &#8220;The Golden Hummingbird&#8221;.<br />

I got an email around 20 past 8 this evening saying that I was NOT chosen for the Fiction Direction course at The National Film &#038; Television School (in london). They did say though that I have been chosen for a Nomination as a Reserve Candidate, which means that if one of the actual 6 chosen candidates can&#8217;t make it, financially, due to time, or just simply don&#8217;t actually want to, then I get their place on the course. It&#8217;s ofcause annoying that not only am I not on the course, but there still is a chance, which I could wait indefinatly for!?! Im getting pretty tired of waiting around. The actually selected students have to give their OKEY within two weeks, I hope they will notify me if there is anything, until then I just have to get on with things.</p>
<p>The good news is that I made it in the top 8 of 39 interviewed and 370+ applicants, and that I did it on my first try. Now I will definatly make my latest story &#8220;The Golden Hummingbird&#8221; and try to apply with it for the next round, thats ofcause if Im not the lucky bastard who gets in anyway!!!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday I was out with January Jaunt to help them out getting som new press shots. We have done this before, but its never been done properly. Its always me getting around the rehearsal room and taking a few low light shots, which never turn out that well. This time it was different though, and a great new experience for myself. First of all, we had more time to do it, second was that we were doing outdoors shots aswell as indoors studio shots with proper lighting. </p>

<p>Last night we(Los Marachas) played at the chocolate factory (Chokolade frabrikken) in Århus, and it was amazing. There was a really good response from the audience, and I coulden&#8217;t keep up with the CDs. I recorded the concert and started to burn audio CDs with the concert stright after the guys finished playing, and not only that, I also took some shots while they were playing and did a CD cover for the CD, and with my trusty cannon IP4200 I printed those covers and went out to sell the CDs. So a great concert and a great response. I wont tell you about the playing itself, you simply have to download the 55 MB (and 48 minute) recording that I have a link to <a href="http://www.andreas-sorensen.com/los_m/los_m_at_the_factory_28-07-06.mp3">HERE</a> (This is NOT in the regular podcast I have!!! 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My first Macbook production. Recorded and cut on the macbook. This was recorded at the Los Marachas rehearsal room and we were trying out a new gimmick&#8230; I was recording the sound on my G5 and after the guys were done playing I started burning audio CDs as quickly as I could. I was able to burn 5 CDs in 10 min. The idea is that we would do this live since Los Marachas is an improv band and therefore does not have any albums or songs. After the shows done I then start burning the CDs and the audience can buy the concert they just heard&#8230; fun huh?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is just a little test to try out some stop-motion techniques. I was watching star trek and wanted to reproduce some of the effects, this little clip is just the first step.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, Im almost there now! I have been working intensly for the past few weeks on my application form for the National Film &#038; Television School in London. Its a few pages with some intense questions, and then you have to submit a Treatment for a film you intend to make aswell as a film you have directed. The main problem is that the film that Im submitting isen&#8217;t done yet, we just recently shot it! Im still editing it, but since they mentioned that teknical skill will not be judged then I think its better to show them something that I have recently made, rather than showing something old&#8230; This film is definetly the best directing that I have done to date! The REAL problem is that I have to mail everything on monday, to make sure it arrives before the DEADLINE!</p>

<p>Recently I have been working on my application for The National Film and Television School in London. Its a lot of work. She was the director, i think?, and in anycase she was responsible for the editing and that the band was satisfied. I mearly did some reedits, change of some colours and fixed some of the odd grading they had on it. It was a bit of a challange as she did no longer have the Raw footage anymore, only the master and one tape with a little bit of raw footage, but I think it turned out alright in the end, what do you think?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is a spot which I produced, directed and edited, aswell as the 3D effects etc. Its my brother and his friends who are in it and my good friend Anders Elgaard who is DOP. We shot the spot in only 2 days and edited it in a week or so. It was edited on a Discreet Edit* system down at the filmworkshop in Århus. The 3D stuff was done in 3D Studio Max 4, and the compositing and final effects were done in After Effects 5.5. For those who don&#8217;t understand what the hell the voiceover is talking about heres a little about the spot itself:<br />

I wanted to do a SouthPark style cartoon, ofcause southpark is actually done with an animation software package, but I felt that I wanted to try it hardcore style! So I got out the paper, cardboard, siccors and glue and got to work. Its shot on my trusty Sony PC-110 and recorded via firewire to iStopmotion and finally edited in FCP. The sounds were recorded beforehand and used within iStopmotion to animate the mouth etc. iStopmotion RULEZ!</p>

As I was looking through file structure and laughing at myself I found a folder called VideoContent&#8230; Hmm interesting&#8230; well I found loads of my old showreel pieces aswell as projects which I had completely forgotten! Anyway - to the point! I decided to encode (re-encode them!) to podcasting and put them on my site, so watch out! lots more comming soon!</p>
